Tai Chi Workshop..Beginners Course..Outcome

Saturday 14th May..Tai Chi Workshop for Beginners..

Saturday saw our Tai Chi Workshop at Leek Wooton Village Hall and it was, according to our feedback,a great success.

We began with establishing our objectives and listening to what our clients wanted to get out of the day..(for this I highly recommend attending Rita Sandford’s Workshop on Designing and Delivering a Dynamic Seminar/Workshop..

“Yes,(an) excellent start for beginners”
“To any novice, a great start”
I’d recommend the workshop “particularly those who can’t
do more rigorous exercise”
“pitched just right”
“it was excellent”
“will certainly recommend”
Just a few of the feedback statements the people attending have given us.The venue was excellent and I’d certainly recommend it
to anyone looking to hold workshops and events. The access and facilities really help to get your event off to a great start and that’s important.

The programme looked to deliver enough quality information to allow the clients to go home, play the CD and begin to understand
how to incorporate Tai Chi into their lifestyles. We particularly wanted to concentrate on correcting the beginners stances and their breathing.
We (I) found out that I had over prepared material, which I guess is the best end of the spectrum to be.The posture for relaxed and energetic standing is difficult to comprehend and often to take up for many people because of our opposite, sedentary and rushed lifestyles.
I’ll put into practice: “breathing and stances”
“how to stand and float through the exercises”
“relaxation and breathing techniques”
This feedback was very positive.

We worked through our Chi Gung exercises of “Raising and Lowering Chi”..”The Swan, The Harp and The Dragon” along with our 5 Element Exercises to open up the body and incorporate breathing into movement.
We finished the morning session with Tai Chi walking to put all of the mornings work into practice…

The afternoon was dedicated to our Tai Chi form..with a brief introduction to the history of the Lee Style tai chi, the stances and the form up to 10 (Fair Maiden Weaving”)..we finished by bringing everyone together to close what we did and send our clients home with the outcome they required..
